GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS
A student must have a current Individualized Educational Program (IEP) to be eligible to enroll in any of the courses listed in this section. OCS students must take the courses below, which incorporate the North Carolina Essential Standards Course of Study.

Students following the Occupational Course of Study must pass the following
20 credits:
4 English credits, which shall be:
- OCS English I
- OCS English II
- OCS English III
- OCS English IV
3 Mathematics credits, which shall be:
- OCS Foundations to Math
- OCS Math I
- OCS Financial Management
2 Science credits, which shall be:
- OCS Applied Science
- OCS Biology
3 Social Studies credits which shall be:
- OCS American History I
- OCS American History II
- American History: Founding Principles, Civics & Economics
1 Health and Physical Education credit
8 Occupational Preparation Education and Lab credits, which shall be:
- Occupational Preparation and Labs I, II, III, and IV
- Completion of 300 hours of school-based training
- Completion of 240 hours of community-based training
- Completion of 360 hours of paid employment
Students must also pass the following 4 CTE courses,
for a total of 24 credits required for graduation:
- 4 Career/Technical Education (CTE) elective credits
Finally, students are required to complete:
- A Career Portfolio
- Student’s IEP objectives
